So beautiful and it speaks to the way that patriarchal religions have deemed certain things a prayer to the Divine and other experiences as sinful. These differences were not there before the big three religions got their hands on our hearts ,souls and minds ! If we are truly made in His image and likeness, how can anything be a sin!

This poem is a beautiful testament to the wonders of the human experience ❤️❤️❤️

"holy sin" is doing exactly the work it needs to — the sacred and the sensual arriving in the same breath. that tension is where the whole poem lives.

the shift to the river and the trees and the wind in the final couplet before the last stanza — you zoomed all the way out to nature and somehow it made the intimacy feel bigger, not smaller.
